Software Engineer – Application Developer

We are looking for a Software Engineer with demonstrated experience in developing visually captivating, highly-usable applications. Our team at Ouva combines empathetic design and innovative technologies to advance healthcare experience. With strong partnerships, contracts and a beautiful office in the Dogpatch area of San Francisco, we are transforming healthcare in ethical terms while building a sustainable, independent business.

What You'll Do:

You will be responsible for developing new applications on the 'Ouva Assistant' platform, from patient-facing conversational applications using voice and gesture inputs to staff-facing critical workflow optimization interfaces. Your solutions will make a significant impact in how patients perceive their hospital experience and how the caretakers track patient well-being. Ability to empathize with users during the processes of check-in, waiting, wayfinding, and more, will be a point of success in optimizing the aspects of patient monitoring, patient flow, workflow optimization and more.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of work experience building visual applications, preferably in Unity 3D platform.
  • Experience with C/C++ and C# programming languages and working with third-party libraries, frameworks and APIs.
  • Ability to create reusable, modular scripts, code packages and libraries.
  • Understanding UX design process and experience working within UX design constraints.
  • Experience with product coding process, including code management, testing, review.
  • Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting, performance profiling and debugging skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong preference of having shipped Unity 3D applications.
  • Experience in working with gesture-based input.
  • Knowledge in 3D mathematics & graphics optimizations.
  • MS degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
